Polycom IP Phone Setup

How to setup Polycom phones for use with Trixbox:

1. Setup DHCP reservation with MAC address and Option 66, Boot Server pointing to the IP address of the trixbox
2. On the phone, enter the Admin menu, go to Server config and change the boot method from FTP (default) to TFTP.  Boot the phone.
3. From the Trixbox Endpoint Manager, search for devices, then map the extension to the MAC/Ip of the new phone.
4. Edit the phone’s CFG files in /tftpboot if required.  the .cfg should be updated with the sip.ld appropriate for the phone model.

The CFG files are created by a Tribox.  The format of the files can be modifyied by tweaking the endpointmanager php script.
